When hard water passes through the IONIQ IWC it is affected by a series of alternating magnetic fields. This affects the ionic charge of the minerals in the water that make it hard in such a way, that those minerals do not form hard water build-up (scale), but instead passes through your plumbing system or settles in the bottom of your water heater.

The IWC does not require electricity, chemicals or a drain line.
